Hello everyone, according to Chinese media reports, on the evening of April 15 local time, Xi Jinping arrived in Kuala Lumpur by special plane, and paid a state visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysia’s Supreme Head of State Ibrahim. Xi Jinping delivered a written speech. As can be seen from the video, almost every word Xi Jinping said was read out of his little notebook. According to Malaysian media reports, Xi Jinping’s visit was like a great enemy to Malaysia. The police deployed high-level anti-terrorism measures and even dispatched a full-frequency radio jammer to escort Xi Jinping’s car throughout the journey. Xi Jinping brought his own Hongqi N701 bulletproof sedan. On April 17, the media reported that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar said that Malaysia “stands with China” under the threat of US tariffs. At the same time, during Xi Jinping’s visit to Malaysia, the two countries also signed a series of agreements involving artificial intelligence, railway connections and even coconut exports. No matter how beautifully the CCP’s television cameras portray Xi Jinping, they cannot hide the fact that when Xi Jinping met with the King of Malaysia, he had to read the script from the “little notebook” in his hand, otherwise he would not know what to say. With such a level, is he still going to point the way for all mankind? Legal services
Some netizens said that Xi Jinping has contracted a new problem. Before, Xi Jinping needed two teacups on formal occasions; this time when he visited Southeast Asia, he brought a big red cushion along the way. The cushion was not brought by Xi Jinping himself. It was arranged through diplomatic means. In other words, Xi Jinping made a huge diplomatic joke. Let’s see that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar also has a cushion behind him. Diplomacy emphasizes reciprocity. Xi Jinping put a cushion behind him, and people had no choice but to put a cushion behind Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar as well. Otherwise, Xi Jinping would appear to be special and superior. This is not allowed in diplomatic occasions. In other words, China won this cushion for Xi Jinping through diplomatic negotiations. This is not Xi Jinping carrying a cushion himself.
Both of them have cushions. Let’s look at Cambodia. Hun Sen has a cushion behind him, and Xi Jinping also has a cushion behind him. They are all diplomatically reciprocal. You can’t bring your own cushion. We can see that Hun Sen’s son Hun Manet also has a cushion behind him. Hun Sen is one year older than Xi Jinping. Hun Sen is 72 years old and Xi Jinping is 71 years old. Hun Sen doesn’t need a cushion at all. Hun Sen didn’t lean on a cushion at all. Diplomatic equality, there is nothing we can do. Hun Sen’s son Hun Manet is only 47 years old. Does he need a cushion at 47?
But Xi Jinping didn’t seem to have a cushion in Vietnam, that is, Xi Jinping may have fallen in Vietnam, or caught a cold, or had a sudden illness and suddenly had back pain. So later in Malaysia and Cambodia, Xi Jinping was given a cushion. Is Xi Jinping so weak now?
Another point to note is that Cambodia’s arrangement is also quite strange. The Cambodian king went to greet Xi Jinping when he was welcoming him, but did not go when he left. The king is nominally the head of state of Cambodia, and Hun Sen is the chairman of the Cambodian People’s Party and the president of the Senate, equivalent to China’s general secretary and chairman of the CPPCC. The king is equivalent to China’s president. Hun Sen’s son Hun Manet serves as the prime minister of Cambodia.
In other words, the actual number one person in Cambodia is Hun Sen, and Hun Sen lets his son rule in the front. And Xi Jinping did have talks with Hun Manet. Hun Sen could have asked his son Hun Manet to go to the airport to see Xi Jinping off. The last time Xi Jinping visited Cambodia was in 2016. Last time, neither the King of Cambodia nor Hun Sen went to the airport to greet or see Xi Jinping off. I don’t know why such a big deal was made this time.
The levels of Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia are as follows:
Vietnam’s pick-up and send-off were both by Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, who ranks second in the Vietnamese Politburo and is regarded by us as Vietnam’s number two person
Malaysia, the pick-up was by Prime Minister Anwar, who is also the number two person, and the send-off was not reported in the news broadcast, so maybe no one went to see him off
Cambodia, the king and Hun Sen picked up the plane, and Hun Sen saw him off.
The king is the nominal head of state of Cambodia, but Hun Sen is the actual number one person in Cambodia. Hun Sen did not need to see Xi Jinping off, and it was inexplicable to hold a military parade to see him off. Hun Sen could have asked his son Hun Manet to see Xi Jinping off, or he could have asked the King of Cambodia to see Xi Jinping off if he wanted to give him courtesy.
Either Xi Jinping told Hun Sen that he was going to step down and this was the last time he would see Hun Sen, so Hun Sen went to the airport to see him off.
The Wall Street Journal quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Chinese authorities have told domestic airlines to suspend orders for new Boeing aircraft and require approval before accepting aircraft orders; however, analysts pointed out that this new ban will have an adverse impact on China’s domestic aircraft manufacturer “Comac”.
The report pointed out that for many years, Boeing has been the largest industrial exporter to China by the United States. According to data from the United States International Trade Administration, the United States exported nearly $12 billion worth of aircraft, spacecraft and parts to China last year, while the amount of such products imported from China was almost zero. The reason why Comac’s main commercial aircraft C919 is airworthy is also because it uses key technologies from American companies.
COMAC has been promoting the C919 internationally, including at last year’s Singapore Air Show, but no foreign deliveries have been announced so far, and only about 16 C919s are in commercial operation in China. For example, Air China had three C919s at the end of last year, accounting for less than 1% of its total fleet of 930.
Bank of America analysts pointed out in a report that “unlike many other industries, the commercial aviation aerospace industry does not rely on China’s low-cost manufacturing,” and expressed doubts about Beijing’s long-term boycott of Boeing. “If China stops buying aircraft parts from the United States, the C919 project will stagnate or even end.”
Only 14 of the 82 major suppliers are Chinese companies. A 2020 report on the C919 mentioned that only 14 of the 82 major suppliers of the C919 were Chinese companies, half of which were foreign joint ventures. Although China now has more Chinese suppliers, “this is still an aircraft that relies on Western technology.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that despite Beijing’s pressure on Chinese airlines to buy COMAC aircraft, analysts believe that COMAC’s products currently do not pose much of a threat to Boeing and Airbus. Although the Chinese government has required most Western technologies to be transferred to Chinese joint ventures since the beginning of C919 development to prevent possible export controls in the future, key components such as engines still need to be imported.
Chinese media previously reported that about 40% of C919 parts are imported, and suppliers come from more than 200 companies around the world, including key components such as engines, avionics systems and flight control systems, but they have gradually been replaced with Chinese parts, such as the Chinese-made Yangtze-1000A engine. It is expected that by 2027, the annual production of C919 will reach 150, and the Chinese-made rate will exceed 80% in 2028.
Affected by tariffs, some Chinese factories can only switch from exporting to domestic sales, but the price has dropped directly to “discounted prices”. Merchant Wang Zican said that he charges a few cents for the exported hole shoes, and the figures exported to the United States can be sold for dozens of dollars, but here they can only be sold for a few cents. There are also various kinds of clothes that were originally exported and sold by tons. Another example: Suzhou Lively Home Textile Factory, which mainly produces blankets and four-piece suits. On April 17, the factory owner said at the conference that due to the impact of the trade war, orders have decreased, and now employees can only work three days a week. Originally planned to increase everyone’s salary this year, but now it is difficult to do so. At present, we can only guarantee everyone’s basic salary. If you can find a better job, you can also stay and share the joys and sorrows with us.
Taiwan reported that China’s production costs used to be lower than Taiwan, and American customers almost gave large orders to China for manufacturing, but Trump gave China a heavy tariff hammer, and the brand could not bear it and began to transfer orders. General Manager of Jingxin Assembly Factory: For example, American e-book readers were originally assembled in China because of the low cost of OEM in China. After Trump’s tariffs, brands turned 70% to 80% of OEM to Taiwan, leaving only 20% to 30% in China, so we estimate that revenue will increase by more than 50%. ——China is holding on under the pressure of US tariffs, and orders are turned to other countries. The Chinese are the ones who suffer, and the countries around China benefit.
This netizen said,
I looked at the statements for 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 respectively. 2022 is the most abstract. The 20th National Congress has just ended, and it is all core + 2442 repetition. It has to be repetitioned five or six times, which is too abstract. In the second half of 2024, there will be a more obvious downgrade, repetition will not be seen, and 2442 will also start to leak. It is a trend change.
Did Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang also have such trend changes when they stepped down? They may be different, after all, they have never been core.
My reply is,
Hua Guofeng should have been pretending to be the supreme leader for a year or a year and a half before he stepped down in the People’s Daily, but he had actually stepped down.
Zhao Ziyang certainly did not change, Zhao Ziyang stepped down suddenly because of June Fourth.
Hu Yaobang and Xi Jinping are also different.
Hu Yaobang had stepped down for two years in 1987, and then he suddenly died in 1989, which led to June Fourth.
Let’s say Xi Jinping steps down in 2025, then if Xi Jinping dies in 2027, will it lead to a new June Fourth.
Two years later, how many people will still remember Xi Jinping, and how many people will still think that Xi Jinping should be commemorated.
The reason why Hu Yaobang’s death led to June Fourth was because Hu Yaobang had a high prestige.
What about Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping is now causing everyone to complain, which is completely different from Hu Yaobang.
China has no democracy, and the people cannot speak freely. China is a dictatorship, but it does not mean that China has no public opinion. China has always said that economic development is China’s biggest source of legitimacy. If the economy fails, the CCP will lose its biggest source of legitimacy, because the CCP does not have the source of legitimacy such as votes. If Chinese people can express their will freely, how many people will support Xi Jinping to continue?
Hu Yaobang and Xi Jinping are completely different.
Let me briefly talk about my understanding of the history of the CCP. I think Deng Xiaoping deliberately brought Hu Yaobang down, and he had been planning for a long time. First of all, after Hua Guofeng took down the Gang of Four through a military coup, he sent Geng Biao to occupy the Central Radio Station and sent Liu Huaqing to occupy the People’s Daily. From these two people, we can know that Hua Guofeng is an empty shell. Because Xi Jinping is Geng Biao’s secretary. In other words, Geng Biao is Chen Yun’s man. Because it was Hua Guofeng, Ye Jianying and Li Xiannian who took down the Gang of Four.
Let’s take a simple sentence to explain the problem
Li Xiaolin: My father Li Xiannian contacted Marshal Ye for Hua Guofeng. According to Wang Shoujiang and Ma Xijin, staff members around Ye Jianying, when Ye Jianying learned of Li Xiannian’s sudden visit, he initially hesitated whether to meet. Ye Jianying hesitated whether to meet with Li Xiannian, which shows that Li Xiannian and Ye Jianying were not from the same faction. Li Xiannian was Chen Yun’s lackey. If Li Xiannian and Ye Jianying were from the same faction, why did they hesitate to meet?
After all, it was such a major event as launching a military coup. Deng Xiaoping had no position at that time, and he was idle at home like Yuan Shikai back then. But Liu Huaqing was Deng Xiaoping’s man. Liu Huaqing was arranged by Deng Xiaoping to join the Standing Committee to ensure that Jiang Zemin handed over power to Hu Jintao. Moreover, Wu Shengli, who was promoted by Liu Huaqing, was also from Hu Jintao’s faction. This faction should be viewed from both ends, not only who promoted Liu Huaqing, but also who Liu Huaqing promoted. It would be more accurate to have three or four people, or 10 people to assist in judging the faction of this person.
Although Deng Xiaoping did not come back at that time, Deng Xiaoping was like Yuan Shikai, who stepped down but had people in the army.
Li Xiannian, who took down the Gang of Four, was Chen Yun’s man, so Deng Xiaoping’s comeback was probably a political deal with Chen Yun. Simply put, Chen Yun knew he couldn’t win, so Hua Guofeng and Ye Jianying invited Deng Xiaoping out. The purpose was to drive Hua Guofeng out of power.
After Hua Guofeng stepped down, the party chairmanship was handed over to Hu Yaobang. The chairmanship of the Military Commission was handed over to Deng Xiaoping, but Ye Jianying was still the vice chairman of the Military Commission. After Ye Jianying died, Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun teamed up to drive Hu Yaobang out of power.
Hu Yaobang’s resignation was purely a political struggle, and the public resentment against Hu Yaobang was not as great as that against Xi Jinping.
Zhao Ziyang wrote a special letter to Deng Xiaoping on May 26, 1984, and copied it to Chen Yun. This letter was actually the first shot to overthrow Hu Yaobang, and it was also the most fatal shot fired at Hu Yaobang’s back.
In other words, it is not accurate to divide factions according to the line. Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang are both reformists. But it was Zhao Ziyang who drove Hu Yaobang out of office. Deng Xiaoping instructed Zhao Ziyang, and Deng Xiaoping and Zhao Ziyang belonged to the same faction.
After Hu Yaobang stepped down, Zhao Ziyang took over as general secretary, and Chen Yun took over as director of the Central Advisory Commission from Deng Xiaoping. It depends on who benefits. It is clear that it was Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun who drove Hu Yaobang out of office.
This matter was planned for a long time.
Now Xi Jinping has been driven out of office, which is also a political struggle, but Xi Jinping’s reputation is not as good as Hu Yaobang’s.
So maybe compared with Hua Guofeng, it is more similar. OK, thank you everyone.
